A monitored smoke/heat device can send the signal to ADT. Availability varies by address and plan. Worth it in an empty weekday house and on canyon streets.
CO is silent. Monitoring means someone else can get help to the house.
Important with gas appliances and attached garages — the default Tampa two-story or ranch plan.
Water at the water heater or a low interior spot — before the floor is ruined.
In Tampa this is usually a water heater, a laundry drain, or a slab leak. Put one at the heater if that is the low point you worry about.
